Luke Bryan is a huge country music star. He also happens to be my favorite songwriter and artist by far. Every time I hear a artist I wonder how they got started in their career. Luke Bryan grew up in the small town of Leesburg, Georgia, where his father worked as a farmer. Country music was an instant love for him. After getting a guitar at age 14, he began playing in public and writing his own songs. After graduating from high school, Luke wanted to move to Nashville and try to make it in the music industry. But the day he planned to move, his brother Chris died in a car accident. He thought it would be best to stay with his family, he felt like being with his family was more important than going to play music. He continued playing at local places with his band. He went to college at Georgia Southern University. He meet his wife Caroline while he was attending college.
In 2001, after working in his father's peanut farmer, his father said if he did not go to Nashville he was going to fire him.  He was very successful as a songwriter there, he wrote "My Honky Tonk History" for Travis Tritt.  In 2004 , he was then offered a solo record deal with Capitol Records Nashville. Finally, all of his hard work paid off and, he finally got a good chance to go big. I am s0 glad someone trusted in his music and thought he could do well. I am also glad he trusted in himself after some hard times he went though he still believed in him self.
“All told, I’m glad I waited a little while before moving to Nashville,” stated Luke Bryan. “Not only am a better writer and singer with a lot more performing experience, but I’ve also lived a lot more. I know what it feels like to hurt, to fall in love, to have your heart broken, and to miss someone. I’ve also learned what a country audience likes and what songs of mine they respond to the most. I’m ready.”

The Tailgates and Tanline album debuted at #1 on the country chart and #2 on the pop charts, making it the second highest debut at that time of 2011 for a country artist. The album is certified Platinum for sales over one million and contains 3 back to back Platinum singles – “Country Girl (Shake It For Me), “I Don’t Want This Night To End” and “Drunk On You.” To date, Bryan has scored five #1 singles. His Tailgate and Tanlines album is my favorite. It is my favorite because my boyfriend and I met while at that concert. Because of the concert I have a lot of special memories when I hear one of the songs off that album.

A big part of music is writing lyrics, without good lyrics you do not have a good song. Luke Bryan's lyrics always catch my attention. I understand and relate to everyone of his songs. His songs are always very catchy and you catch yourself wanting to hear more of his music or wanting to hear a song again. The song lyrics get stuck in your head and you will be singing them all day long. Most of his songs are about country life and what he does on the weekends. Not only his he a good singer, he is also a good performer during a concert. He keeps the crowd excited and tries to get everyone to participate and feel like they are part of all of the songs he sings.  There is never a dull moment when you attend one of his concerts.  Luke has a true passion for music that I love!

While Tailgates and Tanlines is my favorite album " I Dont Want This Night To End" is my favorite song off of that album. This songs really just relates to me a lot.  It is neat that a song can be a way to connect feelings for so many people, sometimes people from all different types of backgrounds.  I am looking forward to seeing what type of albums Luke will sell in mthe future. I hope that he will continue to write and sing the same types of songs similar to his current album. One thing is for sure, for sometime to come Luke Bryan will be a icon in the country music industry.
